If you dream of exploring Patagonia's most iconic trails but prefer to go at your own pace and with greater autonomy, Yellow Plum's self-guided W itinerary is for you. An adventure designed for active, independent, and nature-connected people looking to experience the Torres del Paine W circuit with logistical support, but without a guide.

You hike independently, but you're never alone. Our self-guided program provides everything you need so you can focus on enjoying yourself. You'll receive an in-person briefing before your start, detailed maps with key landmarks, access to pre-reserved campsites, and all the equipment you need will be set up and ready for your arrival at each campsite. You'll also receive pickup and drop-off from Puerto Natales, catamaran sailings, and official entry into Torres del Paine National Park.

What does this experience include?

Fully equipped camping: 4 nights at campsites on the circuit (reservation required). Camping with equipment set up and ready for overnight stays.

Breakfast, box lunch and dinner for each day (Except breakfast and lunch on days 1 and 5).
✔ Park entrance:
Entrance to Torres del Paine National Park.
✔ Transportation:
Regular bus to and from Puerto Natales (departing from the city bus terminal).
✔ Navigation on Lake Pehoé
(day 5 – return)
✔ Transfers: Natales → Central Sector (day 1) - Pudeto → Puerto Natales (day 5)


Activities included

Itinerary

Day 1 – Puerto Natales → Central Sector
Departure by regular bus from Puerto Natales (07:00 hrs)

Arrival at Laguna Amarga, entrance to the park
Approximately 1-hour walk to the Central Sector (or optional shuttle)
Camp installation and free time
Night 1: Central Camping


Day 2 – Trekking to Base Torres
Full-day hike to Mirador Base Torres
• Distance: 22 km round trip
• Elevation gain: +1100 m
• Return to the same camp at the end of the day
Night 2: Central Camping


Day 3 – Central → The Horns / French
Linear section along the shore of Lake Nordenskjöld
• Estimated distance: 12–16 km depending on the camp chosen
• Views of the Cuernos del Paine, forests and lake environments
Night 3: Camping Los Cuernos or Francés


Day 4 – French Valley → Paine Grande
Hike to Camp Italiano
• Optional upgrade to:
• Mirador Francés (medium route)
• Mirador Británico (full route, more demanding)

Return to the valley and continue towards Paine Grande

Night 4: Paine Grande Campsite




Day 5 – Trekking Paine Grande → Grey Lookout → Paine Grande → Natales

Round-trip trekking to the Grey Glacier Viewpoint
• Total distance: 22 km (11 km one way / 11 km return)
• Option to continue to the Campos de Hielo Viewpoint (+3.6 km optional)
• Return to Paine Grande in time for:
Catamaran to Pudeto – 5:00 PM
•Direct connection with regular bus to Puerto Natales
• Estimated arrival in the city: 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM


Final Notes:

• This itinerary does not require intermediate transfers between areas of the park
• Connects all campsites on foot, following the classic W route
• It allows you to take full advantage of each of the park's three major valleys:
• Torres, Francés and Grey
• Alternate double nights in the same location (Central) with progressive stages
• Can be adapted according to camp availability

Reservations and Terms of Service – Yellow Plum Ltda


The following terms and conditions, including the reservation form and any written communications (such as emails) between the client and Yellow Plum Ltda, constitute a contractual agreement. By making a reservation by phone or online, the client is deemed to have read, understood, and accepted all of these terms and conditions.


Payment of the Reservation

To secure a reservation with Yellow Plum Ltda, each traveler must meet the following requirements:

  • Make a deposit of 50% of the total value of the program.

  • Complete and submit the following mandatory forms:

    • Contact and health form

    • Liability waiver

Final Payment

The remaining balance must be paid 70 days prior to the trip. The reservation will not be considered confirmed until Yellow Plum Ltda. receives the deposit and the requested documentation. Once the initial payment is received, a detailed invoice will be sent with the total amount and the outstanding balance.

If you book less than 70 days in advance, it is considered a last-minute reservation, and you must pay 100% of the total amount within 48 hours to confirm your spot. Until full payment is received, your spot is not guaranteed and may be subject to changes or additional fees.

Mandatory Travel Insurance

Since our trips take place in remote areas, it is mandatory to have personal insurance that covers:

  • Medical and hospital care

  • Accidents, injuries or death

  • Trip cancellation and reduction

  • Repatriation and evacuation

Please ensure your insurance does not exclude the activities you will be participating in (trekking, horseback riding, etc.). Yellow Plum Ltda. is not responsible for medical costs or evacuation in the event of an emergency. We will act in accordance with protocols, but the cost is the responsibility of the traveler.

Disclaimer
Yellow Plum Ltda does not carry liability insurance. It cannot assume responsibility for incidents related to the traveler's conduct, equipment, animals (in the case of horseback riding), or situations caused by third parties. All travelers must sign a liability waiver before the trip.
Health Condition
All participants must be in good physical and mental health. The health form must be completed and submitted with the initial deposit. This allows us to plan a safe experience appropriate to your abilities.
Passports and Visas
Travelers are responsible for keeping their passport valid for at least two months after the program end date. They are also responsible for arranging any visas or other documents required to enter Chile.
Personal belongings
Yellow Plum Ltda is not responsible for the loss, theft or damage of personal belongings, whether before, during or after the trip.

Cancellations and Refunds

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and will be valid upon receipt by Yellow Plum Ltda. Refunds apply according to the following table:

  • 70 days or more before travel: Full refund, less an administrative fee:

    • USD $300 per person (standard programs)

    • USD $600 per person (private or customized programs)

  • 69 days or less: No refund.

Yellow Plum Ltda reserves the right to cancel the trip up to 70 days before its start if:

  • The minimum number of participants required is not reached.

  • Force Majeure events occur, such as wars, pandemics, strikes, natural disasters, riots, transportation cancellations, or logistical problems beyond the company's control.

We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance to protect your investment.
